Herb Butter

Who doesn’t love a nice, warm piece of bread with melted butter?!  Add some fresh herbs of your choosing and go gourmet!  It’s super easy and will have you coming back to experiment with a variety of herbs to compliment any entree, vegetable or side dish.

  • 8 Tablespoons (1 stick) Butter, softened
  • 1/4 Cup Fresh Herbs (your choice), finely chopped
  • 1 Teaspoon Lemon Juice or Zest (optional)
  • 1 Tablespoon minced garlic (optional)
  • Salt

  • Any single herb, or a combination of herbs will do.  Ones to consider are: chives, dill, oregano, parsley, rosemary, sage, tarragon or thyme.
  • Cream all ingredients together with a fork or spoon until well blended.
  • On a piece of plastic wrap or parchment paper, shape the butter into a log about one inch in diameter and wrap.  You may also transfer to small serving bowl if you plan to use immediately.
  • The butter will keep in the refrigerator for a week or a month in the freezer. When you’re ready to use it, slice off a piece and place directly on the hot food.  If the butter is frozen, let it warm slightly before using.
